Certified home compostable to AS 5810-2010

For a product to be certified home compostable, it needs to have been proven to break down in a home compost without any negative effects to microorganisms or worms, and break down into plant matter. A product that is home compostable is a fantastic choice – it reduces landfill waste and contributes to a circular economy.

What is Australian Standard AS 5810-2010 for home compostability?
The Home Compostable Verification logo clearly identifies and differentiates packaging materials  as biodegradable and compostable. To be certified compostable, suitable biopolymer materials must undergo a stringent test regime outlined by AS 5810-2010 and carried out by recognised independent accredited laboratories to the Australian Standard AS 5810-2010.
